Applied Biorefinery Sciences, LLC ("ABS") was created in 2008 to develop biorefinery technology that is distinctly different from enzymatic (bio-chemical) and gasification (thermo-chemical) processes that destroy or discard chemical intermediaries generally in favor of a single target product. The ABS process offers potential to overcome biorefineries' economic impediments through process simplicity, high energy efficiency, and co-production of products for existing markets such as wood pellets and pulp. ABS is led by a team of scientists, engineers, and businesspeople with extensive knowledge of biorefinery design and economics.
